Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation that emulates the purpose of the United Nations in finding solutions for the pressing issues that surround our world, done through an academic simulation of the United Nations’ procedures.

Participants play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. For example, a student may be assigned the United Kingdom and will have to solve global topics such as nuclear non-proliferation or climate change from the policies and perspectives of the United Kingdom.

Al Salam Community School, in the spirit of creating a legacy of collaboration and dedication to community engagement, hosts an annual MUN conference for our youth to experience, to learn, to flourish, to make an impact, to change a life.
